Sales doesn’t have to be salsey
I haven’t always been good at sales, in fact I avoided it for a long ass time! And it showed, I was broke and my business wasn’t making enough money to pay my bills! I am still not where I want to be but here are three things I did that are taking me from broke to having more than enough at then end of the month!
Number One: I got rid of the shit that wasn’t working and focused on one thing! I didn’t take everything off my website, but I stopped trying to market everything! There were offers that weren’t selling or booking, so I focused on the one thing I was excited about and focused on that for 90 days!! This fascinates me because it sounds so simple, but we get super attached to things in our business and it becomes personal.
Number Two: I got super clear on the problem I am solving! I spent more time listening to my clients and really understanding what they actually wanted. So often we create offers that we think people want, but we aren’t alwasy right! I was doing it for so long haha I was caught up on the copy, the graphic, the price and everything in between except the thing that mattered most, how am I going to solve their problem.
Number Three: I cut out all the jargon! Our clients are up at 2am searching for an energy clearing, they want to know what they can do to wake up in the morning without another headache! We need to start speaking their language. They read our fluffy and spiritual offers, and they can’t see how they fit into it! What does it actually mean? Go from “I help women align their soul with their business” TO “I help overwhelmed female entrepreneurs build a 90 day strategy that books clients”
The other thing that I did was separate my business from my emotions, what would happen is I would post great for a while but then when I wasn’t feeling good I would vanish, I would tell myself I needed a nap, or meditation or a walk in the trees, and yes these are wonderful things, but not at the sacrafice of our business. When we only whow up when we fel like it, we create these wild ups and downs with our income, and trust with our audience. It’s called feast and famine for a reason, and this is what I needed to shift more than anything! I wanted consistent income, so I needed to start showing up differently.
I needed to make sure my business was still operating no matter what. Putting systems in place that made that easier was a game changer!
I don’t know where you are on your journey, but if you are reading this im guessing you want change too! If you want support with that I wold love to help you!
